Type of training

Details

1. Team Development

Move beyond standard team-building methods and help improve team dynamics by learning to apply Tai Chi principles such as intention, sensitivity, merging and following/leading to:

  • Increase flexibility and adaptability
  • Improve interpersonal skills and empathy with others
  • Develop confidence within the team
  • Create space for growth, focus and better communication

2. Performance Management

Take a unique approach to performance management by using methods from traditional Tai Chi training to improve:

  • Emotional intelligence
  • Mental clarity
  • Focus and application
  • Enhanced awareness
  • Relaxation for physical / mental efficiency and stamina

3. Stress Management, Health & Wellbeing

Tai Chi provides the ideal framework for decreasing stress levels in the workplace.  Sessions can provide simple ideas that can be easily incorporated into your working day to help manage stress levels and improve overall health.

Regular practice can:

  • Lower raised blood pressure
  • Improve circulation
  • Reduce stress-related illness
  • Strengthen the immune system
  • Reduce joint pain and back problems

4. Negotiation &

Influencing Skills

Tai Chi principles have much in common with effective methods of negotiation and influencing, such as Principled Negotiation.  The collaborative, non-competitive approach that the art fosters helps to change the mindset of the individual by showing them another way to getting what they want, a way that creates less animosity and bad feeling.

The partner and group work within the session help illustrate these powerful ideas in a uniquely experiential and engaging way.  To quote a workshop participant: “We were able to use the idea of not pushing straight back at someone during our influencing skills training later in the day; we suggested that if you were prepared to go with the person you wanted to influence, you'd be much more successful in the end.”

5. Leadership & Management Development

The approach of the Academy is to foster the personal development of the individual in the way that they think, feel and project themselves and how they communicate with and perceive others.  Tai Chi helps to take personal awareness to a different level so that leaders can:

  • Observe themselves with more clarity and insight
  • Experience a more profound change in themselves to deepen their authenticity and integrity
  • Unlock more of their expressive power to connect with and inspire people
  • Develop physical and mental flexibility and stability
  • Stimulate creativity
  • Develop calmness and confidence, to positively affect working relationships

“Your Tai Chi sessions seem to work for us because its a nice team activity that everyone can get involved in, which helps team bonding.  Also, the way that you run the sessions enables us to make lots of links to many of the interpersonal skills you need to use in business.”

Rachel Dale, PA Consulting
